Ayurvedic Therapies (Meditative)
Ayurveda, the name given to the ancient Indian science of life, is said to have originated 4000 years ago and is believed to be the oldest health system known to man today. Rather than treating symptoms it treats the whole person, working holistically, combining nutrition, herbal remedies, yoga and massage.
Massage is an important part of Ayurvedic therapy, but rather than concentrating on western techniques that manipulate body contour, it works on the marma points opening up ‘energy channels which are believed to cause an imbalance or blockage.
All treatments start with a consultation and firstly include an Ayurvedic diagnosis to determine your body type, known in Sanskrit as 'dosha'. This revolutionises your treatment by recognising your dominant dosha and then a skincare programme can be composed specifically for your needs. There are three 'doshas' vata, pitta and kapha and each one has its own caring and nurturing regime.
Soundaryam Vardhini
Tri-Dosha Ayurvedic Holistic Facial (60 mins)
Using Tri-Dosha' unique range of Ayurvedic natural products made from wild grown Ayurvedic herbs, we start this treatment by cleansing the face with a powder scrub formulated with the powerful ingredients of Sandalwood and Ramacham. A holistic facial massage follows which concentrates on the marma points on the face and neck. Once the tension in your face is released a clay based mask is applied to clear any blockages from the skin. The treatment is supported with pressure point massage on the feet to complete your relaxation treatment before moisturiser is finally added. Best results seen in 3 treatments.
